On Appleby 1977
Andy and Blue Smith's Westmorland Star
This amazing trailer was number 212
built in June 1975. Mr Smith ordered
the beading on the roof, probably unique.
As can be seen this trailer had a multitude
of 'extras', eight grab handles on both
back and front. The interior was 'marble'
formica with nine ceiling lights. It also had
a specially made red enamel and very ornate
stove. The fireplace was unique. Even the jack
covers had flowers engraved in the stainless !!
This was a very expensive trailer .
Mr Smith had a red Bedford TK for towing.
It must have been a striking turnout !!!

This is the first 'red' W.Star
I have seen, but Ive been told that 'young' Opie Price had a red one on the Hoggs Back in Surrey in 1974.
and
Old Black Mary Lee had a new
one at Doncaster races in the
late 1970's..................................
