Hughie and Alice Deadman's

new 22' Vickers.

Pictures taken in Scotland.

Inside the trailer: Alice Deadman with her son Hughie.

This photo shows clearly the style

and taste of the 'flash' travellers of

the time: Crown Derby, lace trimmed

and tasselled blinds, lace tablecloth, Welsh blanket on the bunk. Note also the 'bedding box' still a useful feature in the trailer at this time.

A smart 'Siddall Torbay' trailer, which belonged to

Alice Deadmans mam and dad. Picture was taken

at Dalkeith near Edinburgh, Scotland.

Helen Ann Varey infront of a 1958/9 'Thompson Geln Elg'

taken at Appleby in 1961. Thompson vans were popular as

'kitchen trailers' and with the Scottish travellers.

New and gleaming: a fine 'Lonsdale'

a very classy trailer !

Interesting to note the remarkable similarity to the first 22' Westmorland Star

Hardly surprising as Ted Sears, partner in W.S. had been works manager at Lonsdale.
